Directions were easy to follow, however we had to constantly go back and work on parts already tightened. We even had to use a hammer on some parts (which is why I cannot return it now), did a little damage. If quality hardware actually came with this bookcase, it would be perfect.

Positives: Looks great, very contemporary. Not too difficult to assemble.
Negatives: Some minor cracks and scrapes on the parts. Assembly was slightly tricky, though the instructions were clear. You assemble the middle first with cam-screws and standard screws. The cam-screws tend to slide in their holes. I ended up partly taking the middle apart and re-assembling the middle along with the right side so I could ensure that the cam-screws caught and the shelves and center braces were tight and level. You cover the holes for the cam-screws with these rather tacky looking stickers; but honestly, from any distance they are completely invisible.
Good buy for the price.

Let me start off by saying that the bookshelf looks great now that it's finally put together and it's really sturdy. Shipping was very quick (2 days) and the item arrived with a few scratches on the shelves but I was able to put it together in a way that the scratches are not visible. The worst part about this was the assembly. I don't think they used high quality hardware. The screws were very difficult to get in and the cams were also a bit hard to maneuver. I suggest 2 people put this together. Other than the assembly, though, I am very happy with it.
